One of the newest technologies to the electronics market is the LED TV. Because not many manufacturer’s make this television as of yet, it is still quite costly. It has advanced technology; the cost of the LED television is sure to decrease in the coming years as more sets become available.
Cold Cathode was the technology used in television sets prior to the LED. With the dawn of the LED set, more color and contrast are in the picture. Unfortunately while watching this set, some people have been said to get migraines while watching the brighter colors on this set. Still, most people enjoy the new and brighter colored technology.
Three main LED bulbs make up the new LED television set. The RGB bulb contrasts color; it is especially apparent between the white and black. Unfortunately with the large contrast in color with this bulb, occasionally some smaller images on the screen can lose its clarity and fine detail. The full array bulb is mostly to thank for the picture’s bright colors and clear screen. Edge bulbs, usually white in color, are placed along the edge of the television.
The LED television saves the environment and the cost of energy; the television requires little energy to run in comparison to a standard set. When a television set run it generates heat. When all the heat collects in one area of the TV, it runs the risk of overheating and causing damage or permanently breaking. The LED more evenly disperses the heat, reducing the risk of overheating damage. On a cosmetic note, many people love the thinner screen, even when compared to a traditional flat screen TV. With these reasons and more, there is much to be loved when thinking about an LED television.
The LED has been met with raving reviews. All said and done, this TV has done outstanding, with better than average customer reviews on almost every single model manufactured. Four to five stars is what this TV generally rakes in; consumers everywhere love this TV type. The LED TV is expected to jump in sales throughout the next couple years; it is no wonder with these amazing reviews.
The cost of the LED TV is still pretty cost prohibitive. A television will cost anywhere from several hundred dollars to a couple thousand. The price largely depends on the size of the TV, the features included, and the television brand. Pre-owned LED TVs are available at some retailers; while these are a less expensive option, the cost is still pretty high.
The Advertising Standards Authority of the United Kingdom as well as others have stepped up to put an end to shady business practices. While the LED television as we know it was not produced until 2008, in 2004 a LED backlit LCD screen was manufactured. Many products around 2008 were not clearly labeled, leading consumers to think a product was something it really was not. Manufacturers are now required to clearly label packaging.
LED televisions are new and fairly costly. With gushing reviews and an impressive picture display among other features, the sales are sure to blossom in the coming years. As competition grows and the technology price decreases, the prices of these sets are sure to decrease as well.
