Laptops are increasingly replacing their desktop counterparts because of their remarkable performance and good portability. Laptops are seen everywhere in just about any computer store with lowered costs than the previous years. Because of their popularity, maintenance problems have been a major issue since laptops are more frequently used than ever yet repairs prove to be expensive. Most standard laptop models can easily be damaged if treated improperly and repairing them can be quite a task.

One of the many problems that laptop users face is their laptop screen giving up and once that happens, your laptop is practically useless. But you’re not in a dead end here and you don’t need to pay a technician a large sum of money for a laptop screen repair because you can do it yourself. Before you start doing laptop screen repairs, find out first what’s wrong and take action from there.

Is it a Pixel Problem?

If you notice certain areas of your screen not functioning then that means you are suffering from pixel damage. The only way to fix this is by removing the laptop screen and replacing it with a new one.

When buying a replacement for laptop LCD screen repair, make sure you examined your laptop well to determine what screen manufacturer fits perfectly. After that, unplug your laptop and remove the battery to begin. Replacing the screen is just a matter of taking off the screw covers and carefully unscrewing each one so that the screen can be pulled away from the bezel.

Is it Hard to See?

All laptop screens have a backlight display that you can adjust for visibility. That backlight can be damaged if you notice any trouble seeing the elements on the screen. A laptop screen repair may not be needed in this case as the backlight may be switched off. Check the laptop hinges and try closing and opening your laptop a couple of times. If that doesn’t fix it, try using a small pin in manipulating the switch back to the on position.

Is it flickering?

Screen flickers are usually caused by a faulty inverter – the one that powers your laptop screen’s backlight. All you need to do is buy an inverter, which costs around $100 and replace it using a simple procedure.

Is it showing a white display?

Pure white displays are shown onscreen when the cable connection between the monitor and system board is loose or damaged. If you are planning to replace this, make sure it matches the brand of your laptop for a good measure.

Is it displaying jumbled images?

There are a few rare cases of your laptop displaying scrambled images that you never thought could be possible. The problem in this case may not be the monitor, but could be the video card since it is the one that transmits these images to the monitor. The best way to make sure is by plugging in a standard monitor and see if the images are jumbled there.

The next time you witness your laptop screen breaking on you, don’t stress yourself out and buy a new laptop. Instead, go for laptop LCD screen repair yourself and save by fixing or replacing whatever is broken.
